T.E. Russell, (born December 10, 1969) appeared as Thurgood "Goodie" Cumberbatch the son of Ernie Cumberbatch on the short-lived CBS-TV All In The Family spinoff series 704 Hauser. T. E.'s feature film credits include Trespass, Gladiator, Toy Soldiers, Swimming with Sharks and the independent Bellyfruit. Among his television credits are regular roles in the series Fame LA and 704 Hauser and guest-starring roles in CBS-TV's short-lived L.A. Doctors series, ABC-TV's NYPD Blue, Dark Justice and China Beach. Russell also appeared in the television movies Heat Wave, The Howard Beach Story and Intimate Betrayal.
Early life and education[]
Born and raised in Chicago, Russell studied theater at the Chicago Academy of the Arts. In his senior year at the academy, he was almost forced to drop out because he could no longer afford the tuition. Through total serendipity, Oprah Winfrey became his temporary benefactor and issued him a check to cover his entire year's tuition, thus enabling him to complete his studies.
Russell currently resides in Los Angeles.
